Barmston Village Primary School

Be the best that you can be

School uniform

Although school uniform is not obligatory, the Governing Board have agreed to adopt a dress code for school and pupils are encouraged to wear it whenever possible. School colours are navy top with grey skirts or trousers, white or sky blue shirts or blouses and blue and white check dresses in the summer. Almost 100% of our pupils wear school uniform or colours. To complement the dress code it is expected that all children will dress their hair in an appropriate fashion.

Remember to label all clothing!

Uniform is available all year round:-
  • embroidered navy blue sweatshirts  @ £10.00
  • embroidered navy blue sweat cardigans  @ £11.00

Children are allowed to wear earring studs in pierced ears. We ask the children to either remove these objects during PE and games, or cover them with a plaster, to prevent them from causing injury.

Extreme haircuts

The school does not permit children to have ‘extreme’ haircuts that could serve as a distraction to other children.

The school wants children to grow into healthy adults. We believe that it is dangerous for children to wear shoes that have platform soles or high heels, so we do not allow children to wear such shoes in our school.

Plimsolls are worn in the building to maintain a quiet and clean learning environment for all the children.
