Barmston Village Primary School

Be the best that you can be

Governor Welcome

Welcome to our School. We are immensely proud of our team of staff and children. Over the past year we have had a few changes to our Governing Board and we now feel we have a strong set of skills to support the school community.

Governors act as ‘critical friends’ of the school and we seek to ensure that the high targets set are achieved. We do this by regular meetings with staff and every term we have a challenge afternoon where we monitor and evaluate a part of the School Improvement Plan. We regularly challenge the Head and leadership team to ensure that the School’s strategy for continual improvement is working. We also recognise our responsibilities as employers and seek to improve the working environment where possible and support all our staff both teaching and non-teaching.

All Governors give their time freely and details of who we are can be seen on the website. If there are issues that need to be addressed I would ask that you follow the procedures laid down and detailed on our site.  I am very grateful for the time given by all Governors, because without such support the School would not be able to run as it does.

Governors are introducing a termly drop in for parents and the school community to come and talk to us with any issues and of course any compliments.  Flyers will be sent home by the school and it will be on the school APP.

In April 2017 we welcome two new governors - Mrs R Cowley and Ms Z Stanners.
